The Agricultural Knowledge Management Unit (formerly known as ARIS Cell) established during 1996 functions under the Statistics Section. The Institute has set up a LAN consisting of nearly 100 nodes with a 100 Mbps Internet Connectivity that has been provided by Ministry of Science and Technology under National Knowledge Network (NKN) in coordination with National Informatics Centre (NIC). The AKMU also takes care of maintaining and updating the Institute website.

The Library has at present a total collection of about 14,024 books consisting of Textbooks, Reference Books, Theses, Annual Reviews & Advances and bound volumes of Journals, besides free publications (annual reports, newsletters, etc.) received from ICAR institutes , SAUs and foreign organization’s.

Activities of PME Cell
♦ PME cell acts as a link between the Institute and the ICAR Head Quarters in maintaining all day-to-day correspondences on technical matters.
♦ The Cell acts as a link between the Institute and external Institutions, including sugar factories, farmers and other research institutions.
♦ The section maintains all the Research Project Forms (RPF) of all ongoing and completed research projects of the Institute.
♦ The section maintains all files and correspondence with regard to Externally Funded Schemes.
♦ Contracts for Consultancy Services are routed through this section
♦ The section coordinates the Education services offered by the Institute to students who are pursuing short term research projects and Doctoral programmes offered by various Universities.
♦ Monitoring of breeder seed production schemes and supply of seed material to sugar factories and farmers are facilitated through this section
♦ All Institutional meetings and weekly seminars are arranged through this section
